Full Professor in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.

Currently teaches at the Higher Technical School of Computer Sciences and Telecommunications Engineering ( E.T.S.I.I.T) of the University of Granada.

He is member of the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (DECSAI) and the Computer Vision research group (CVG). Dr. Fdez-Valdivia is a member of the IEEE Computer Society and the AERFAI (Spanish Association for Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis, an IAPR Member Society).

His areas of research interest are Computer Vision, Image Analysis (Biomedical Applications), Feature Detection, Visual Perception (Perceptual Distortion Measures), Image Coding and Bibliometrics .
